Throughout Fairfield County, these non-profits are focused on community development activities that build stronger and more resilient communities. The Foundation provides grants to support nonprofit organizations through direct program funding and general operating grants, as well as endowments, scholarships, and capital campaigns. We support non-profits in the communities of Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan

When awarding grants, we seek out organizations that are creating significant, lasting, and transformational change—either through responses to today’s needs or through systemic solutions that address the root causes of society’s challenges. We primarily focus on organizations that supports community/economic development or children, health, and families.
Eligibility Requirements
- Have nonprofit tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Determination Letter must be provided)
- Have programs located in Stamford, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan
- Have community support, address community needs and have measurable outcomes
- Demonstrate fiscal and administrative responsibility
The Stamford Rotary Trust Does Not Fund:
- Individuals
- Capital/Endowment Campaigns
- Fundraising Events/Sponsorship Opportunities
- Trips/Tours/Conferences
- Deficit Spending/Debt Liquidation
- Religious organization, unless stated program is for the benefit of the community
- Private/Parochial Schools
- Organizations that discriminate in any way
- Organizations not open to the public
- Political Causes
- Organization mission and goals
- Organization History
- Staffing information (number of full time and part time employees, number of volunteers)
- Description of agency programs
- Number of individuals served, and description of population served, including age, ethnicity, sex, residence, socio-economic status, other relevant information. Indicate percentage of law/moderate income population served.
- Description of program for which you are applying, including activities, population served, need(s) which will be met
- Goals and objectives
- Expected outcomes
- Collaboration with other agencies, organizations, if applicable
- Other current, prospective funding sources for program
- Descriptions of staff positions carrying out the program
